FAQ

1. Who can participate?

The more the merrier! A company may enter an unlimited number of runners, walkers and joggers, from 1 person to 5000! All scoring participants must be full-time and employed by the participating company at least three months prior to race day. Part-time employees, family members and friends, as well as those under 18 may also participate but are not eligible for individual or team awards. Employment and other criteria are subject to verification by the Race Committee. Because of insurance restrictions, strollers, animals, baby joggers and rollerblades are not allowed on the racecourse. NOTE: you DO NOT need to be member of Kaiser Permanente to participate.



2. I walk. Can I participate?

Yes! Over 50% of event participants will be walkers. For the safety of all participants, runners and walkers will be directed to separate start areas. Watch for signs to the walker start lineup!

3. How do I get my company signed up?

Go to our Registration Page and follow the directions. You can sign up online or offline. We highly recommend signing up everyone online. If you sign up online, you (or the team captain) must first register your company.

4. How much does it cost to participate?

Early = $25 per person through August 16, 5 p.m.
Late = $30 per person August 16, 2009, 5 p.m. - September 15, 2010, 2 p.m. There is no company registration fee.

5. Do any charities benefit from the race?

A portion of the proceeds is donated to various local charities including The Atlanta Braves Foundation and the Atlanta Community Food Bank. 

6. I run pretty fast (7:00 minutes per mile). How can I get to the front of the starting line?

Again this year we will have the Elite Runners Section for runners 6:00 per mile or faster (men) or 7:00 per mile or faster (women). This area will again be at the very front of the start area, nearest Fulton Street. There will be a Master's Division for those 40 and over with time documentation of Master's Men (6:15 per mile) and Master's Women (7:15 per mile).

All athletes must submit official 5K/10K race documentation from a 2008-2009 certified course to Galloway Productions via fax 404/252-3971 by Friday, September 3, 2010. This documentation can also be emailed to info@jeffgalloway.com. Runners should indicate this on their registration form. All Elite Runners will receive a special bib number (call 404/843-8727 with questions) and a few other perks.

The regular Seeded Section is available again this year for runners who expect to run 7:00 per mile or faster. Captains should indicate the number of Seeded Section tickets needed when registering the team (online or offline). Team Captains are responsible for distributing seeded tickets to their team members.

7. May I bring my children?

All participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian signature. Other considerations: the course is fairly hilly, and it is usually very warm. Due to insurance restrictions, baby joggers, strollers, rollerblades and animals are not allowed.

8. Where can I tell my company members to meet?

Company tents are available and are highly recommended. Team captains can sign up for their tent online or offline (we prefer online). If your company does not have a tent, it's a good idea to set up a time and place to meet prior to arriving at the race site.

9. Where can I park?

Parking Lots on the east side of 75/85 will be open until full or 5:00. After that, you will be directed to lots to the west. Carpooling is always a good idea! $10 for cars & $40 for buses. Or, we highly recommend taking MARTA (from the Five Points Station, take the East-West Line 1 stop east to the GA State Station).
